Oil Depot Explodes!
If none of you know i live in Hemel, where the oil depot exploded on Sunday morning it was the biggest blaze ever our town has survived the biggest fire in Europe since the war and with no fatalities, they hope by lunchtime today they will be able to put the fire out, It was the biggest shock ever to be woken by the house shaking and windows rattling at 6am it was really scary, now i know how you all feel having natural disasters the worst part was the first twenty minutes after not knowing what it was and whether we should leave our house, we live about a mile away straight down the hill, it was awful!
They say the smoke has now reached the channel and is heading into france! The smoke is alot greyer now than this as it is mixed with foam
Okay this picture was meant to appear at the bottom but its randomly in the middle, this is my nephew in the first snow fall in the year a couple of weeks back, my sister is now expecting her second child and is due in June! this auntie business is expensive!
A picture taken close up i am sure you have seen pictures like it on the news!
This is what you can see from where i work although it is subsiding a bit now as they are putting it out
This is what you could see from the bottom of my driveway shortly after it happened!
So thats my drama from the weekend!!

Oh my gosh Jo! I had not heard about this...but then again I rarely have time to watch the news. I am so glad no one died. Were there a lot of injuries? Burns? I can't imagine how scary it must have been to live close and not know what to do.
On a lighter note..I didn't know your sister was pregnant again? You're next oldest, you might want to get started...just kidding, get married first, then have a baby!!! (Are you still naming your first girl Abby? haha)
42 people were injured we were lucky as a town that it occured at 6am on a sunday, so not many people were around, if it had been a weekday then well i can only imagine it would of been horrific!
Yikes! I'm glad you're ok Jo.
wow! I had no idea this happened. I should keep more update on the news! I am so glad you are ok! How scary.
Similarly, I must have been living under a rock. I had not heard about this event either! It is good to hear you are fine.
